Short answers to the common questions, and a way to reach us. Wantless has no accounts, so there is nothing we need from you to get started — just describe what happened.

Where is my data stored?
On your iPhone. Everything you log — puffs, check-ins, notes, tags, goals — lives in the app's database on the device. When the phone is signed in to iCloud, a private copy sits in your own iCloud so a new phone can pick it up; Apple holds that copy and Wantless cannot read it. There is no server of ours with your records on it. The full picture is in the Privacy policy.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no sign-up and no sign-in, and the app never asks for your name or email address. Purchases hang on your Apple Account, and your records travel through your own iCloud. Neither needs anything from us.
How do I move to a new iPhone?
Two halves, records and Plus, and they travel separately.
- Records: sign the new iPhone in to the same Apple Account with iCloud on. The private copy comes down on its own. The "iCloud sync" line in the app's Settings shows the state.
- Plus: open Settings in Wantless and tap "Restore purchase". Plus is tied to your Apple Account, not to your records.
How do I restore a purchase?
In Wantless, open Settings and tap "Restore purchase". Check that the device is signed in to the Apple Account that bought Plus. If nothing comes back, the purchase may be under a different Apple Account.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not inside Wantless. On the iPhone: the Settings app, your name, Subscriptions, Wantless, Cancel. The Plus line in Wantless's own Settings opens the same Apple page. Cancelling stops the next renewal; the time you already paid for runs to its end. The lifetime purchase has nothing to cancel.
Refunds also go through Apple, at reportaproblem.apple.com.
How do I delete everything?
In Wantless, open Settings and tap "Delete everything" at the bottom, then confirm. It removes your records on the iPhone and the copy in your iCloud, and there is no copy left to restore from. Plus survives, because it is tied to your Apple Account, not to the data.
Deleting the app alone leaves the iCloud copy in place, and it comes back if you reinstall. Use "Delete everything" first if you want both gone.
What do the AI features send?
They exist only on Plus, and they send nothing until you agree on the consent screen the app shows first. What is sent: totals and times of day as whole numbers — for example, 36 puffs this week, 21 of them between 3 and 5 PM — a tag from a fixed list, and, in the sentence logger only, the one sentence you typed. What is never sent: your notes, your check-in history, your goals, your name.
The request goes through our relay, which stores nothing, to Claude, an AI service run by Anthropic. Turn it off any time in Settings under "Written insights"; every Plus feature keeps working with fixed phrases instead.
Notifications are not arriving
Wantless sends only two kinds: the check-in reminder at a time you picked, and milestone days. If they are not arriving:
- In Wantless: Settings, then Notifications — check the check-in reminder is on and the time is right.
- In the iPhone's Settings app: Notifications, then Wantless — allow notifications.
- A Focus mode can silence them; check your Focus settings.

Email [email protected]. If it is about a specific behavior, the app version helps: it is at the bottom of Settings, under "About". There is no account for us to look up, so a description of what you saw is the most useful thing you can send.
